I am legend verdict: Thumbs up

I’ve been waiting for Will Smiths new vampire/zombie movie “I am Legend” to come out. I would encourage people to go see it. However there were a few things that were inconsistent and really deserved to be covered more in the movie mostly the following:

The effects of the virus on the human body.

1) Will smith sets traps to capture an infected human to test out his vaccine. He sets a trap near what he calls a “hive”. Later in the movie a manequin will has befriend is moved near grand central station with … wait for it … a trap by the vampire dudes. This is a clear indication of intelligence and there was a real chance to explore the social de-construction and reconstruction of a society.

2) The movie (and book I presume) make a point of providing scientific reasons for the symptoms of the disease. However they seem to be able to do things that would tear a human body appart, like smashing fortified glass open with their heads … etc … these are still human bodies … It seemed like they either needed to make the infected more frail (more human) and rely on their numbers of dominance, or provide a good explanation for the new found durability of the dark seekers.
